As the big day approaches, it is a good idea to start packing! Probably best to have that bag ready by week 35. Check out my Birth Essential's Birth Box for some items that I have curated to help make your birth a positive experience. In this post, I have put together a checklist of items to consider bringing but be sure to leave any valuables at home, especially your rings (fingers may swell), and any other jewelry. Focus on bringing items that will help you feel comfortable and at ease.
A photo ID- both partners should bring a photo ID
Insurance card
Change of clothes- maternity clothes that fit you when you were 6 months
Nursing pads (some hospitals will provide you with these)
Nursing bra
Your birth plan
Almond oil (perineal massage oil)
Cozy warm socks (check out our Birth Essentials Socks)
Shower shoes
Disposable underwear/ change of underwear (Most hospitals will have these for you- bring some home!)
Heavy flow pads (you need the heaviest) (also for when you get home) (the hospital has these but they are usually not the most comfortable!)
Warm sweater/sweatshirt (hospitals are often cold)
A cozy robe
Camera
Phone charger
Music/speaker
Battery operated candles
Reading material
Extra pillows (the hospital usually provides only one)
Nursing pillow
Healthy snacks

For your partner-
